In a bid to address the workforce shortage, ISC2 has introduced the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) entry-level certification. Unlike other certifications, it does not mandate prior experience, thereby widening the field to encompass a more diverse pool of candidates, including recent graduates, individuals transitioning from other careers, and seasoned IT (Information Technology) professionals. Moreover, CC serves as a stepping stone for newcomers, paving their way towards advanced cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CompTIA Security+, and eventual leadership roles in the future.
